Japan’s Mandatory Health Screening Requirements

\\n\\n\\n\\nAll employees must receive a health screening once per year. The employer is responsible for arranging and covering the cost. Results must be kept on file for five years.
\\n\\n\\n\\nNon-compliance risk: Employers who fail to provide mandatory health screenings face fines of up to ¥500,000 under the Industrial Safety and Health Act. Additionally, if an employee develops a work-related health issue and no screening was conducted, the employer may face increased liability.

\\nReports are provided as professional PDF documents in English. Each report includes the employee’s name, examination date, individual test results with reference ranges, an overall assessment, and physician recommendations. \\nHow long does the health screening take per person?
\\nThe full statutory health screening takes approximately 60 minutes per person, including registration, all examinations, and a brief consultation with the physician. For corporate group bookings, we optimize the flow so multiple employees can be screened simultaneously, reducing overall time.
\\nDo you offer on-site health screenings at our office?
\\nCurrently, all screenings are conducted at our clinic in Asakusa. Some examinations — such as chest X-ray and ECG — require specialized equipment that cannot be transported. However, our central location (1 minute from Asakusa Station) and flexible scheduling make it easy for your employees to visit during or outside business hours.

\\nYes. We can add tests such as HbA1c, hepatitis B/C screening, tumor markers, thyroid function, and more.
