Corporate Health Screening in Tokyo – English-Speaking Clinic for International Companies

\\n

If you manage an international team in Tokyo, you already know: Japanese labor law requires annual health screenings for every employee — including foreign nationals. But finding a clinic that conducts the entire process in English, issues English-language reports, and handles group bookings with minimal disruption to your workday? That is the hard part. We built our corporate health screening service specifically to solve this for HR teams at international companies.

Japan’s Mandatory Health Screening Requirements

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Under the Industrial Safety and Health Act (労働安全衛生法), all employers in Japan are legally required to provide health screenings for their employees. There are two main types:

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Pre-Employment Health Screening (雇入れ時健診)

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Every new hire must undergo a statutory health checkup at the time of employment. This applies regardless of nationality, visa type, or employment duration — if the employee works 30 or more hours per week, the screening is mandatory.

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Annual Periodic Health Screening (定期健診)

\\n\\n\\n\\n

All employees must receive a health screening once per year. The employer is responsible for arranging and covering the cost. Results must be kept on file for five years.

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Non-compliance risk: Employers who fail to provide mandatory health screenings face fines of up to ¥500,000 under the Industrial Safety and Health Act. Additionally, if an employee develops a work-related health issue and no screening was conducted, the employer may face increased liability.

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Foreign employees are not exempt. Whether your team member holds an Engineer/Specialist visa, Highly Skilled Professional visa, or Intra-company Transferee visa, the obligation is the same. The challenge is that most Japanese clinics conduct the entire process — from questionnaires to result explanations — exclusively in Japanese, which can create confusion, anxiety, and compliance gaps for non-Japanese-speaking employees.

Our Corporate Health Screening Service

\\n\\n\\n\\n

At SAKURA International Clinic Asakusa, we provide fully English-language corporate health screenings that meet all requirements of Japan’s Industrial Safety and Health Act. Here is what sets our service apart:

\\n\\n\\n\\n

End-to-End English Support

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Every step is conducted in English — the pre-screening questionnaire, all examinations, face-to-face explanation of results by a physician, and the final written report. No interpreters needed. We also support Mandarin Chinese, Korean, and Japanese for multilingual teams.

\\n\\n\\n\\n

English-Language Health Reports

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Each employee receives an individual health report written entirely in English, clearly explaining test results, reference ranges, and any recommended follow-up. Reports are formatted for easy filing and can be shared with overseas headquarters or insurance providers.

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Group Booking & Flexible Scheduling

\\n\\n\\n\\n

We accommodate groups of any size. Whether you need to screen 5 employees or 50, we coordinate scheduling to minimize time away from the office. Our clinic is open every day of the year, including weekends and national holidays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM — giving your team maximum flexibility to complete screenings without disrupting business operations.

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Dedicated Corporate Coordinator

\\n\\n\\n\\n

A single point of contact manages your account from initial inquiry through report delivery. Your coordinator handles scheduling, employee communication, and any follow-up questions — so your HR team can focus on their core work.

\\n\\n\\n\\n
\\n\\n\\n\\n

How It Works — From Inquiry to Report

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Step 1: Contact Us

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Reach out via WhatsApp on WhatsApp or email. Tell us the number of employees, your preferred dates, and any special requirements (e.g., additional tests beyond the statutory minimum, specific report formats).

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Step 2: Schedule & Confirm

\\n\\n\\n\\n

We propose a screening schedule designed to process your team efficiently — typically in time slots that allow each employee to complete the full screening in approximately 60 minutes. We can split larger groups across multiple days to suit your business calendar. Once confirmed, we send pre-screening questionnaires in English for employees to complete in advance.

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Step 3: Screening Day

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Employees visit our clinic at their scheduled time. Our staff guides them through each examination in English. The entire process is designed to be smooth and stress-free — no language barriers, no confusion about procedures.

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Step 4: Report Delivery

\\n\\n\\n\\n

Within two weeks of the screening, we deliver individual English-language health reports to your designated HR contact. Reports can be provided as secure PDF files or printed copies. If any results require follow-up, our physician provides clear recommendations in the report and is available for consultation.

\\n\\n\\n\\n
\\n\\n\\n\\n

Frequently Asked Questions

\\n\\n\\n\\n
What is the minimum number of employees for corporate booking?\\n

There is no minimum. We accommodate corporate bookings for any group size, from a single new hire to an entire office of 100+ employees. The corporate pricing and dedicated coordinator service apply regardless of headcount.

\\n
\\n\\n\\n\\n
What format are the health reports in?\\n

Reports are provided as professional PDF documents in English. Each report includes the employee’s name, examination date, individual test results with reference ranges, an overall assessment, and physician recommendations. We can customize the format to match your company’s record-keeping requirements upon request.

\\n
\\n\\n\\n\\n
How long does the health screening take per person?\\n

The full statutory health screening takes approximately 60 minutes per person, including registration, all examinations, and a brief consultation with the physician. For corporate group bookings, we optimize the flow so multiple employees can be screened simultaneously, reducing overall time.

\\n
\\n\\n\\n\\n
Do you offer on-site health screenings at our office?\\n

Currently, all screenings are conducted at our clinic in Asakusa. Some examinations — such as chest X-ray and ECG — require specialized equipment that cannot be transported. However, our central location (1 minute from Asakusa Station) and flexible scheduling make it easy for your employees to visit during or outside business hours.

\\n
\\n\\n\\n\\n
Can you add optional tests beyond the statutory requirements?\\n

Yes. We can add tests such as HbA1c, hepatitis B/C screening, tumor markers, thyroid function, and more. Many international companies request additional items to align with their global health benefit standards. Let us know your requirements when you contact us and we will include them in the quote.
